The 1 day intensive training course in earwax removal aims to develop the knowledge and skills to be able to confidently and independently perform ear wax removal using microsuction, irrigation and instrumentation including risks, safety of practice, complications, follow-ups and referral recommendations.

You will learn the skills and knowledge required to safely undertake ear wax removal and will be assessed in our training studio by a clinical trainer. We provide extensive hands on clinical practice using simulated ears in combination with live patients to help gain confidence and maximise learning opportunities. On successful completion of the program, you will be accredited in microsuction.

PROGRAM CONTENT

The training workshop involves anatomy and physiology of the ear, principles of microsuction and practical activities including condition recognition, ear health assessment, otoscopy, digital video otoscopy, and microsuction techniques for earwax removal. All microsuction practice and assessments are performed on live patients, and the workshop also focuses on wax removal using irrigation and instrumentation.
